Happy October, horror fans!!! This month we’ll be counting down the weeks until Halloween with some themed posts. This week it’s classic monsters - werewolves, vampires, zombies, and so on. Whether you’re into monster lore, classic movies, or fresh takes, let’s talk about it here.

Let’s start off with a couple of the classics. As an (admittedly weird) kid, two of my favorite books were Dracula by Bram Stoker and The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux. And wouldn’t you know it, the first film adaptations of both stories are now in the public domain:

The Phantom of The Opera (1925)

Nosferatu (1922)

Do you have a favorite classic movie monster, or is there one that particularly scared you as a kid? (I remember being afraid when I would go to the bathroom and see the shower curtain move; for some reason I was convinced there was “a Dracula” hiding behind it.)

If you don’t have posting privileges but have a post you’d like to share from another blog, you can either tag it with “Something Wicked” or leave a link to it in the comments here and we’ll get it on the main page.
